Although it’s not visible at first sight, this silicone ring is a vital part of the Vita pressure cooker. Not only does it prevent the steam from leaking out between the lid and the body, it also serves as the final security system. Should the cooking and safety valves fail to work, the rubber ring will be pushed in a position that allows the excessive pressure to escape via the ring’s cut-outs and thus guarantees a safe decompression of the pressure cooker. It is compatible with all Vita pressure cookers of 22 cm.
